The gardens give nice coverage for shade, so that you can have portraits throughout the day. The fountains give some nice extras for backgrounds, too!
Here is a popular spot for bridal locations- and this is also a great ceremony location too.
When you turn around from this arch, this is your view:
Going back through the arch, you come up to beautiful large trees. A great spot for a first look.
Another great ceremony location is to the right of the house, where the reception usually takes place.
This frees up the arch area for photos because there are no chairs!
You ready to go inside? Let's go!
Here's where the groom usually gets ready. It has great window light and it's a beautiful room.
Here's where the bride gets ready. That's me making sure everything is perfect!
Bonus, bride's room has a porch connected to it that the groom's side can't see, so you can be out here for some photos!
Behind the scenes of photographing dresses! There are a couple of great spots in the room to photograph them.
Now we are heading downstairs. This is technically the second floor, it seems like the first since it's what you walk into from the front door, but there is a floor below. This second main floor is for the bar, for cake cutting, and that's really all usually.
Here is the first floor where everyone has dinner.
You can enter the dancing area right off of this floor without going in and out of the front of the house!
Want to see some more portrait locations, and ways this venue has been styled for weddings?
One cool thing about the Lace House is that you can pull a car right up to the front door for a neat exit!
Here's some more reception. This is the cake cutting area:
Worried about rain on your wedding day? The Lace House is one of the BEST venues to have for a rainy day. The gardens allow for the trees to catch drizzly weather, so your outdoor ceremony can go on if it's a super light rain. If it just recently rained and the ground is wet, the side of the house has a brick covered walkway (which you've seen in the dancing photos) that is very large- large enough for us to have portraits there, even a ceremony there. No shoes going in the mud! If it's actively raining for all of your portrait time, the Lace House has multiple porches that are big and wide. They let in lots of light while keeping you dry. Would you believe this was during a downpour?
