A Pastel Garden Party Wedding in Lexington, SC
Jordan is a planner at heart, so that combined with her wedding experience and ability to see her vision of a pastel garden party wedding made this day destined to be beautiful. I met Jordan one Sunday while we were discussing her plans for her 2020 wedding. She spoke about her late grandmother, Nita and how important Nita was to her and to her family. She wanted to be married on Nita and her grandfather's land, and use Nita's gardens to honor her and incorporate her memory as much as possible in a garden party event. Nita loved color, she loved florals, and she loved antiques. Throughout the event, you'll notice vases filled with colorful florals that have a story, antique cake stands, milk glass that has been collected over time, and a testament to how important Jordan's late grandmother is to her.A few weeks after our meeting for Jordan's 2020 wedding, I get an email.. "can we move it up to about three months from now". Jordan's grandmother on her mom's side wasn't in the best of health and there was a concern that 2020 was just a little too far away. All of the vendors were able to accommodate and get this wedding day going. Jordan's grandmother was present, and I'm so glad I am able to provide images of her grandmother with her on this day. It is a heavy and important job, documenting people and preserving memories when they are no longer with us. Those photographs become invaluable. I don't take that job lightly, and I have been praying for you and your family Jordan as you guys get through this difficult time- I am just so glad she was able to be there and see you.One of the smartest things Jordan did with the planning process was book Melanie Murphy. Melanie took these ideas, this blank slate of Jordan's grandfather's property, and made it PHENOMENAL. Many vendors had a big hand in this process, including Woodley's landscaping who transformed the garden, Party Reflections who tented the space, Old South Vintage Rentals who provided all of the beautiful furnishings, and Waiting on Wildflowers who decked the place out in florals! We took some bridal portraits before the wedding day, JUST in the knick of time to have a beautiful framed print at the reception and I want to share a couple favorites!
There are so many more, but I just can't wait and have to fast forward to the wedding! Enjoy this pastel garden party wedding that is A DREAM.
Jordan created a classic and timeless suite with By Farr, and when I photographed it I wanted Jordan's Nana to really come through so this colorful frame of florals, combined with her Nana's stamp collection, gave it that Nana POP!Introducing Wayne, the man of the day!! Wayne got ready at Jordan's father's home and it was BEAUTIFUL. Side note, Jordan's dad makes cabinets and he showed me some of the most amazing kitchen cabinet work I have ever seen. Unrelated, but my assistant and I were just walking through gasping and gawking! Notice the wedding date cuff links.. great gift idea!
The first of many sweet moments with Jordan and her granddad- her Nana was his wife. He ADORED seeing Jordan, and there wasn't a dry eye in the house for their first dance together.
This creek, which I called a river all day and have been corrected on (LOL), was a very special place Jordan and her Nana would spend time. Portraits there were essential, and they turned out beautiful!
Best planner in town!!
Let's have a moment for Bonnie Brunt Cakes... Jordan chose six different cakes, arranged on vintage style dishes, surrounded by colorful flowers from Nana's garden (the tall red flower was incredibly special- it shouldn't have even been blooming at this time and there it is showing off!) Bonnie created a masterpiece, and Waiting on Wildflowers balanced it with flowers to perfection. I've never seen a cake table more beautiful and more intentional.
Let's get them married! In the back you'll see Jordan;s grandpa's home, it's so cool that we took his land and just made it into a wedding space right here in Lexington!
A celebration water break with Twist Bartending!
Hi here's me
Cocktail hour in the garden did not disappoint. So much color, it was gorgeous!
Hudson's provided not one, not two but THREE spreads of food.
This photo is special because this is the mama of those cute kids up there, and this is the LAST photo of her pregnant! She went into labor about an hour later! Talk about timing.
Jordan danced with her father, and both of her grandfathers. When I say not a dry eye in the house, I truly mean it. It was so special to be a part of.
Look at these two friends! I love capturing these moments!
To Jordan & Wayne, thank you for the honor of documenting this day for you. I hope you will always look back on these and remember how beautiful everyone thought it was, how happy they were for you, and how much fun they had as well!
