Columbia Courthouse Wedding | Hampton Preston Reception
After meeting in college through Caitlin's roommate (Steve was a drummer in their band), Steve and Caitlin hit it off right from the beginning. They both knew almost right away that this was something special, and they've been building a life together ever since.
Caitlin and Steve had the sweetest two-part wedding experience, and it was such a joy to be part of. After a beautiful rainy wedding day at the courthouse, they followed things up with a party at Hampton Preston for some of their favorite people at a later date.
They chose to keep both events intimate and relatively small to ensure they could visit with the people they hold most dear. It's been a joy getting to know them, and I'm thrilled to share a little snippet of their celebrations with you!
The Sentimental Details
Their wedding day was full of sentimental details, but my favorite was the jewelry. It was all very sentimental and super meaningful for Steve and Caitlin. Before their wedding day, they were gifted Steve's parents' wedding bands (after a recent upgrade), and Caitlin's engagement ring belonged to Steve's great-grandmother!
Caitlin also wore a blue topaz ring gifted to her by her late grandmother as a college graduation gift as well as a ring and a necklace that her cousin made as her "something blue." Each adornment had a deeper meaning than just something sparkly, and I love when couples share the little details with me before their big day so I know to be on the lookout for them.
The Ceremony
For their courthouse wedding, Caitlin and Steve had a gorgeous first look at Hotel Trundle before making their way to the ceremony. Caitlin wore the most beautiful cream long-sleeve gown. It was such a classic choice for their private ceremony. Not that they planned it, but they also looked absolutely stunning on the rainy walk to the courthouse.
The Reception | Hampton Preston Mansion
The couple chose to have a slightly bigger party for their guests on a separate occasion at the Hampton Preston Mansion. It was a glorious celebration, and I loved Caitlin's beaded gown for the evening.
