Lace House Wedding in Columbia, SC | Cliff & Elizabeth
Lace House weddings make my heart so happy. There is literally no bad way that you can photograph that venue- it is beautiful! When I met Cliff & Elizabeth (surprise, over food because ME) I knew that Elizabeth was the perfect bride for the Lace House. She has a look that is so classic and timeless, she is so beautiful! Her color palate of neutrals mixed with her pops of chinoiserie throughout the decor mixed so well. To top it off, Elizabeth chose Fern, a local florist who is known for creating literal art with florals and greenery. When Fern and the Lace House mix, and then you add a classic bride with wonderful taste, you know it's going to be a great day! This was such a wonderful start back to work after welcoming our second baby back in January. Here are some of my favorite highlight's of Cliff & Elizabeth's Lace House wedding!
Let's start with some 35mm scans of some of my favorite details.
Elizabeth's suite was designed by Fresh Cut Prints, and I have to brag on them for a moment. The designer reached out and sent me a suite so that I could have it before the wedding, and bring it to the wedding without requiring Elizabeth to remember to bring one herself. How thoughtful and helpful is that?? Invitation suites are the most common piece of the wedding story that a bride forgets to bring to her wedding day, and this designer made sure she didn't even have to worry about that. I loved that concept.
Onto the gloriousness that is Fern florals. Possibly made up a word. Fern + film.... ahhh my heart.
This wedding was extra special because I brought on one of my closest friends to second shoot it with me. We have never had the chance to work together before, and she made the day so fun. But she also took a million bad pictures of me, so there's that. Shoutout to Julia. Sometimes I think I look cute when I'm working. And then I get photos like this and I think NEVERMIND!! The photo on the right is what I was capturing!
Can we just go back to florals for a moment.. I mean...
Elizabeth's Tara Keely dress by Lazaro was purchased at The White Magnolia and I think it suited her so perfectly. It was so elegant and gorgeous!
Me taking that last photo on the right!
When I say Elizabeth was the sweetest I truly mean THE. SWEET. EST! She and her mom had a little congratulatory gift for me and Elliott! This bag had a keepsake to remember them by, a card that is literally framed on the nursery wall because it's so pretty, and so many cute outfits (and Elizabeth took note of his nursery colors from my Instagram posts- how thoughtful is that??). Thank you so much Elizabeth!
Julia is truly an inspiration. Her attention to detail and ability to capture moments perfectly as they happened are just second to none. Man she nails it.
It's time to get dressed and head out for the first look!
How gorgeous are Elizabeth and her bridesmaids? The dresses, the florals, perfection. The spider inside the train- not perfection.. Julia to the rescue.
I always encourage brides to have fun solo shots with each of their bridesmaids in addition to the traditional "look at me and smile". Because when you want to celebrate your friendship on social media, you're probably gonna wanna go with something that's you guys!
ELIZABETH, ARE YOU EVEN REAL? (Checked the data to see if I took this.... I didn't. Darn it!!)
Getting the veil juuust right!
Check out with Fern can do with a staircase!
Chase Cakes nailing it!
I can't tell you how many of these I had to cull through throughout the day......
Here's Julia tripping on a rock. And continuing on with some GORGEOUS portraits!
Honestly don't know what I'm supposed to even do with the image on the right but thanks for the image on the left Julia LOL #armframes #newtrend
This is what I aim for with portrait time, I hope it's fun for you guys and I hope I can keep you comfortable and keep you laughing! Working with a friend made the fun effortless!
One of my favorites of the evening. Julia shot digital while I shot film. Can you guess which might be which?
Best DJ in town- Dave Gilbert with Party Time!
This is another reason why I love a Lace House wedding. In the evenings you get to have these outdoor receptions under the stars and the cafe lights, with the trees surrounding you. It's just unbeatable.
Elizabeth is from California, and Cliff is a South Carolina native. They had cookies for their guests made with their wedding attire in the shape of their states! Elizabeth said " It's the perfect nod to our home states, the distances our guests traveled and Cliff and I's love of all things sweet." Nailed it.
What a beautiful day. Thank you both for having me, I wish you guys a lifetime of happiness!! <3
