Red Gate Farms wedding in Savannah, Georgia
There are a handful of weddings that I connect with hard. Usually this requires the bride being an old friend, but it didn't with Krystal. Have you ever met someone you just wanted to be around because their energy was so positive and encouraging? Like your day would be better just being around them, you could get out of a mood, find some hope, remember your purpose.. Krystal is that kind of person. When she inquired a year ago about her Red Gate Farms wedding in Savannah, I clicked so much with her email. It was long, it was personal, (it was full of compliments which I don't hate hahaha), and I knew I needed to come back to Beaufort to meet her. Over the year I've witnessed Krystal go through a deployment with so much positivity and grace. She did all the things they tell you to do when your Marine deploys; she exemplified a positive and supportive Marine wife before she ever was one. And then after they got married, boom Ryan gets orders to Japan and what did Krystal do? Be the positive supportive military spouse that it's SO hard to be sometimes. Krystal, don't you ever let any "seasoned wives" school you over there in Okinawa, you are the one that needs to school the rest of us in looking at a situation with God's plan and hope and positivity despite the Marine Corps not always making it easy. It has been an honor to get to know you and Ryan, I wish you guys the BEST in Japan and I'll be following your journey on Facebook! Your light shines SO bright!Ryan and Krystal’s Red Gate Farms wedding in Savannah was all things boho. From Krystal’s flower crown, to her Anthro shoes and BHLDN accessories, to the succulents and sunflowers adorning the venue, to the Modcloth dresses for her bridesmaids (that are totally re-wearable!). it was just effortlessly beautiful. Krystal made so many unique and fun choices, like a favor to the guests of mugs that she had collected! It was bohemian and a little bit southern, which you have to appreciate in Savannah! Lady & Sons (Paula Deen’s restaurant!) catered the event with a southern spread, and little elements of southern charm were throughout the venue as well. Red Gate farms offers a ton of Spanish moss, a beautiful lake backdrop, and a barn reception venue that fit Ryan and Krystal’s style to a tee! These vow books are my favorite!Krystal you are just breathtaking and RADIANT!Krystal's dad... all the heart eyes.Time for the man of the hour! Before the ceremony, the two met at the barn to say a prayer. They wrote each other letters...And Ryan got this card hahahaThe real letter came after!A group prayer before it's time to get married!Ryan's reaction to Krystal is just everything!Krystal I just love you for this!Basically the perfect family photos and I see nothing wrong with themAnd for the first time ever I actually went with a wedding couple back to their hotel! Which sounds super weird now that I type it, but it was for photos outside with their getaway car!And that's the end of what was such a special day. This is one of those weddings that I'm sad I don't have on the calendar to look forward to anymore, but I know August 6th won't be the last time we see each other!! I wish you guys THE BEST and I will be stalking your Okinawa journeys from social media!VendorsVenue: Red Gate Farms in Savannah, GAHair: Caroline Smith at Hairplay Salon and Color Bar Bride’s dress: Bluebell BoutiqueBride’s shoes: AnthropologieVow books and garter: BHLDNBridesmaid’s dresses: Modcloth Photographer: Jessica RobertsFlorist: Family friendCake: Groom’s mom!Ceremony music: Michael HoustonDJ/Band: Mcleod Caterer: Lady & Sons Wedding bands: Bay Street Jewelers Invitations and papers: Budget PrintOfficiant: Mark Ashbaugh
