Wedding Day Redos | Beaufort, SC photographer

Your wedding photos are SO SO SO important. Some people say it's the most important event in your life to be photographed! (I disagree and say it's the birth of your children, but that's just me). Being a military spouse myself, I completely understand that in a lot of cases, marrying a man in the military means fast planning on a low budget. My husband proposed to me when he had ONE day left of leave back at home. We decided to get married at the courthouse the next day before he left, we didn't know when we would see each other again and planning a big day just wasn't that important to me, especially since we were on a ramen noodle budget that early on in his career. So we had a 24 hour engagement and got married at the courthouse in our hometown with our moms and our best friends. I don't regret it for one second, BUT it also means I never got to wear a beautiful white dress and walk down the aisle with my dad, and have beautiful wedding photography to cherish for the rest of my life. Photographing some gorgeous weddings recently has made this a little bittersweet for me! I'll share my bad wedding photos at the end of this post :)I think there are a lot of us in similar situations, whether we didn't have the budget for a great wedding photographer, didn't have one at all, made the mistake of giving the job to a family member, a lot of us married folks just don't have great wedding photography. That doesn't have to be the end all be all of our story of marriage though. Who says you can't put the dress back on? After reaching out on my Facebook page I have learned that there is a lot of interest in having some

wedding day redos!

Wedding day redos will be pretty self explanatory. They require a few things, and the first one immediately disqualifies me unfortunately.Want a wedding day redo? Here are the requirements1) A wedding dress. Not a white knee length cotton dress from Target, an actual wedding dress!2) A wedding dress that fits. Make sure before you sign up for these that the dress does actually still fit you, don't assume anything. Make sure you have everything you need for this dress to fit you properly.3) A husband who still owns his suit and fits in it, or has dress blues available to him (that also fit)4) A husband who is willing and interested and won't hate you and myself for signing him up for this. If you know your husband absolutely loathes getting his picture taken and will be annoyed throughout the process, I promise you won't be happy. Please please don't offer him up if he's going to hate it! I will be asking him to give me good smiles, laughs, have some fun, and if you know he will be a bump on a log don't do it!Wedding day redos are a concept I am going to be offering for SALE (not for free). What I need first are one or two couples to volunteer as my models, and those models have free sessions with some free digital files as a thank you for their time. If you meet all above requirements and would like to volunteer as a model please feel free to send me an email at JessicaRobertsPhotography@hotmail.com. Please include some basic information about you guys and a picture of you in your wedding dress. If that photo is years old or you've had kids or lost/gained weight, try it on again to make sure you are good! From the Facebook post, I have had about 25 people show interest in this and I will only be choosing 1 or 2 couples as my freebies, so please keep that in mind if you're not chosen. I can't do it all for free and stay in business but I will be offering these for sale at the most reasonable price I can!I plan on these being super fun and beautiful and for the models, these sessions will happen in June in the late evening, location to be determined. And as promised, here are the only two images from my wedding day that I have on this computer:31530_597759029349_5901320_nOh yes, that is a plastic bouquet of flowers, my husband is in jeans, and this image was destroyed in Picnik and I don't even have the original!!!! If you guys don't remember Picnik, it was a really bad editing program in like 2006-2009 where people ruined their photos like this.76_508134138349_1960_nThe only normal non-Picnik-destroyed image I have. This one. Talk about me needing some wedding day redos!!!
