Clemson Engagement Session | Clemson, SC

I love when clients choose to highlight their stories with their engagement photos. There are so many ways to do this, but it's really special when they choose a place that means so much to them. Of course, choosing a beautiful park or venue is a fabulous idea, but putting a bit more thought into selecting your location can make such a difference.

Choose a Location That Celebrates How You Met

These two opted to take things back to where it all started. They met during their years at Clemson University, and I love that they chose the campus for their session. They picked a handful of traditional locations, like gardens and sprawling fields. But I love that they also included Nick's Tavern, too!

Choose a Location Where you Can Be Yourselves

Choosing a location where you can take a deep breath and be yourself can make all the difference. A crowded park may not be the best choice if you aren't into PDA. If you prefer an outdoor environment, choose a location that reflects that. Being comfortable during your session and the space you're in can make the whole experience even more fun.

Choose Locations with Variety

One of my favorite tips is to choose a location with a bit of variety. Of course, an open field can be a beautiful location in the right setting. But, choosing a space that offers a variety of shooting locations will give you just as many options in your final gallery. By choosing to shoot at Clemson, Lindsay and Cal had a mix of images in their gallery that made choosing portraits to frame and use on their wedding day a breeze.

Don't be afraid to think outside the box for what you think a typical engagement session should be. The entire point is to document your love story in a way that feels true to you.
