Mr. and Mrs. Jack | A Columbia, SC wedding
We met for the first time the day before the rehearsal. We bonded over texts, phone calls and Instagram the months prior. Alisha Millwood of Amazing Moments suggested me as a possible option to Shavon for a wedding photographer, and as Shavon says it, as soon as she saw the website she KNEW! I loved hearing that! Having a bride be so confident and excited for you, man that is an amazing feeling! Big thanks to Alisha for bringing us together!Shavon (who might be referenced here on out as Beyonce, more on that later) got ready with her closest family and friends at her mother’s Columbia home. She put on the Cinderalla shoes, everyone gasped at her in her gown as she entered her limousine that took her downtown. At the state house, I photographed her and her beautiful bridesmaids, the sweetest little flower girl, and Shavon solo just being her gorgeous self. One fun fact about Shavon, she has a GORGEOUS smile, but when you ask for some diva, she can turn that into a raised eyebrow serious face REAL quick!After the girls headed to the church, it was all about Kofi. Kofi is the definition of cool, he is way cooler than me or anyone else I know for that matter. I knew he wasn’t going to show up in an ill-fitted suit and he did NOT disappoint me! As soon as I saw this all white I said yep, that’s exactly what I thought he might do! Have his fashion day too! Man did they look great together! The guys took their shots and headed to the church.This ceremony was no joke the most tearful and emotional ceremony I have photographed. That is such a bonus for me!! She wiped his tears, the wedding party was crying… Lord it was just a wreck in there, but in the BEST way. Shavon and Kofi spoke to each other during their vows straight from the heart, and they are just so rooted in faith and they know, just like Shavon said in her vows, God’s got this. If we are looking to Him, everything is going to fall into place.Portrait time was my favorite part of the day- we had about 15 minutes left of light and we just WORKED! Shavon had a couple of her friends with her to touch up her makeup and they were just cheering me on for not wasting ANY time! I loved it, they were making me laugh and have a good time so much! Shavon’s feet were killing her after being in those shoes for a while so I offered mine up… here’s me BAREFOOT IN THE RIVERFRONT PARK #dedicated.

We have no shortage of portraits because they were just knocking them out with me, they knew how to pose behind the camera so well! Made my job so easy. I love this couple so much you guys, I really do.
The reception had SO many awesome moments! Shavon’s granddad got up out of his wheelchair to dance with her and I sobbed. Kofi’s mom was so emotional during her dance with her son (Remember Boys to Men, Mama?) Sobbing. Me just sobbing. And then Kofi’s best man made me cry again during his speech about how proud he was to have a best friend like Kofi, and that he likes Shavon because he doesn’t make him sit in the backseat HAHA.But the best part….. Beyonce. Shavon disappeared for a little while… came back in this all black getup, Had Kofi sit in a chair, and DANCED TO A CHOREOGRAPHED BEYONCE MONTAGE SHE MADE FOR HIM. This is literally the coolest thing I have ever seen anyone do. And it puts anything I’ve ever done for Matt to shame. “This Yeti cup is nice, but it’s no Beyonce choreographed dance montage”. His face was shock and excitement, her face was just full confidence and joy… it was so cool to watch! Her friends were cheering her on so much! They are just the FUNNEST people to be around, seriously. Shavon and Kofi, I am so glad you guys picked me. I’m so grateful Alisha showed you I was on option, I’m so glad you fell in love with my work, because I just fell in love with yall. I wish you nothing but the best and I KNOW we will see each other again! Hugs hugs hugs!!!
